2007 NOSB Organic Aquaculture Symposium Call for Abstracts and Papers
Submission of Abstracts:

All interested and knowledgeable individuals or groups are encouraged to submit abstracts for consideration for oral and/or poster presentation that specifically address the questions prepared by the NOSB. The responses to these questions will meet their need for more information concerning the unresolved issue areas. Submitters of abstracts are requested to clearly state the specific NOSB question(s) (found via this PDF link) and their position on the issue that they are addressing. Environmental impact is an underlying concern as it relates to all areas as well as compatibility with the organic ethos and human health impact.

A limited number of abstracts will be selected to prepare for oral presentation at the symposium due to restrictions on time and resources. Abstracts are due July 15, 2007. The selection of oral presenters will be completed by August 15, 2007 and all final papers should be ready by September 30, 2007.

All presenters are required to make arrangements for their own accommodations, travel schedules and expenses. If a lack of financial resources would prevent your participation in symposium as a presenter, there may be funds available from private industry and foundation sources that could help. There are no funds available through the NOP for this purpose.

Presenters asked to participate on a moderated panel will provide an oral presentation and be available for questions from the NOSB, NOP and the public. No speaker will be chosen for more than one oral panel presentation; however, anyone interested in being considered for more than one panel should submit a separate abstract for net pens and feed. Oral presentations may only use Power Point formatter for PCs for slide shows. There will not be sufficient time to deal with other personal laptops and projectors. All details regarding the symposium, including the specific amount of time available for the individual presentations, will be provided during the follow up when the panelists are informed of their selection.
